Care & Cleaning Information for Wag Theory Products
Waxed Canvas Products
Waxed canvas is an amazing material that is long-lasting and water-resistant, but does need a bit of care over time to maintain its repellence.
Cleaning
To clean, gently use a scrub brush with water, rinse, and let dry.
For spots or stains, use a bar of mild bar soap, saddle soap, or waxed canvas cleaner, but always test a small area first.
Do not machine wash, dry clean, or use detergent on your waxed canvas products.
Reapply Wax
To maintain the rainproof quality of your Wag Theory jacket, reapply wax annually or spot treat as needed.
What you'll need:
Tin of fabric wax
Rag
Kraft paper
Blow dryer
Lint roller (if needed)
Step 1:
Prep Your Jacket
Once you have cleaned and dried your jacket using the instructions above, use a lint roller to remove any excess hair.
Step 2:
Apply Wax + Heat
Using a rag or old t-shirt, rub a thin layer of wax onto the areas that need treatment.
Then using a blow dryer or heat gun, heat the area where wax was applied. You will notice the wax start to spread and look shiny. This is the desired effect.
Step 3:
Blot Excess Wax + Hang to Dry
Using kraft paper or part of a paper bag, blot the areas where wax was applied to soak up any excess.
Hang the jacket for a few hours (or overnight) to allow the wax to set.
Denim or Cotton Care (Bandanas)
To maximize the life of your product, hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle with cold water and lie flat to air dry.
Biothane Care (Leashes)
Biothane is a coated nylon webbing that can easily be rinsed or washed with water and a bit of mild soap and left to air dry.
Nylon (Treat Pouch)
For best results, brush off all loose dirt with a soft bristle brush. Evenly spray on a cleaning solution (can be simply water or a mild non-detergent soap). Gently and evenly scrub with a soft bristle brush, then rinse until all soap residue is gone and allow to air dry.
